What are Somatic Problems?

There is no exact reason for Somatic Problems. But Genetic and biological factors, such as an increased sensitivity to pain, may play a main role in Somatic Problems. People who face these problems are worried about their health issues. The symptoms of those persons are similar to the symptoms of other illnesses. These may last for several years.

When a person is facing some physical symptoms such as pain, weakness or shortness of breath at the level which results in major distress or problems functioning are called Somatic Problems. For this, you may face the problem of headache also. Headache, chronic Migraine, Dizziness, Fatigue, Dry Mouth, Sleep Difficulty etc. are the symptoms of Somatic Disorder.

Risk Factors

  • Anxiety or Depression.
  • Family History of a Disease.
  • Experiencing Stressful Trauma or Violence etc.
  • Experienced of Past Trauma such as Childhood Sexual Abuse.
  • Lower Level of Education and Socio-Economic Status etc.

  • Anxiety, Depression and Personality Disorders.
  • Problems with relationships etc.
